July was a month fulls of joys and sorrow. Bobby's family had worked on planning the first annual Allen family trip. Bob and Sue had generously booked a condo in Breckenridge that would fit all 12 of us. As the week in July was getting closer we weren't sure if it was going to work out because Bob's brother had been in and out of hospital for awhile. Everyone told them that they should still go since there hadn't been any changes and he was still fighting as hard as ever. So they made the drive, were able to see Emily swim at her swim meet but then got the call that the family didn't think he was going to make it. His parents told us that they still wanted us all to go, that it is what he would want us to do and that they would call us with any updates. We did a lot of different outdoor activities, each "couple" made a couple of meals, Lukey had so much fun spending long periods of time his cousins and aunts and uncles. We got the call 1/2 way through the week that Bobby's Uncle wasn't going to make it. Thankfully, all of his family was surrounding him and they were able to let him go peacefully. Bobby, his brother, sister and boyfriend all drove back to Omaha to be there for the services and to celebrate his life. What an amazing man. Always a smile, always a laugh, always the most kind, welcoming, cheerful man. He will be missed by all that knew him.
