Christmas 2011

Christmas was over a month ago but it's never to late to record it!

Christmas 2011 was great. We started the season by having the Johnson cousins over for cookie making/Home Alone viewing/sleepover. We had so much fun that we're doing something similar this upcoming weekend! We're trying to start some holiday traditions and think this is can be a great "start" to the holidays each year.

We've decided that we'll have a fresh tree every other year when we're in Denver for the holidays. We cut our own two years ago but we got a storm the day that we went out to get one so we elected to unfortunately get it from Lowe's. I was pretty bummed but glad that the next "fresh year" will be one that he'll remember unlike this year.

It was fun to walk down in our pj's (early, of course) and open the presents that were under the tree. Luke was more into it than he was on his birthday but next year I think he'll really be into it... and opening for everyone else too!

We met the rest of the family around noon for our family Christmas which was great. We had a great time together and a fabulous dinner. We tried to keep it simple so that no one would be left in the kitchen cooking all afternoon.
